About the Role

The US BioPharma Respiratory & Immunology (R&I) Team holds a unique position in respiratory disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Our pipeline includes differentiated medicines using novel combinations, biologics, and devices, as well as promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist for the R&I Primary Care Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to positively impact patients’ lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop superior product and disease state knowledge; educate and engage healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety profiles.
  • Drive sales performance to meet or exceed forecasts and assigned budgets.
  • Complete all training requirements, including product examinations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care information for your territory.
  • Collaborate with your District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop a local strategy and business plan.
  • Capitalize on formulary approvals and implement Strategic Targeting Plans using promotional resources and analytical tools.
  • Provide educational programs to healthcare providers within AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
  • Coordinate selling efforts with other Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists around common objectives.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of Respiratory and Immunology sales experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturer
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Current knowledge of AstraZeneca R&I brands
  • Experience in asthma rescue and triple therapy markets

Desirable Requirements

  • Established relationships with Internal Medicine and Family Practice accounts in Central Illinois
  • 10+ years of prior pharma sales experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and sound judgment
  • Results-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to learn, analyze, and convey complex information
